Summary

This position is located in the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion (CURE). This position serves as the Consumer Access Technician. The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out functions related to credit union chartering, charter conversions, bylaw amendments, field of membership expansions and low-income designations.

Responsibilities

As a Consumer Access Technician , you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Review field of membership expansion requests to determine complexity and assignment. Make recommendations to the Consumer Access Director to approve or disapprove non-complex requests.
- Respond to written and telephone requests for information from credit unions regarding charter conversions, field of membership expansions, bylaw amendments and low-income designations.
- Develops and maintain databases to compile, track and generate data for reports.
- Develop, prepare, or update charts, graphs, presentations, narrative information, and other documents for management reports. Ensure accuracy of prepared reports.
- Provide operational, technical, analytical, and statistical support to the division director and the division analysts.

Qualifications

You must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service in order to qualify for this position. To qualify at the CU-9 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-7 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes all of the following: 1) reviewing applications related to the financial field to determine completeness and compliance with requirements; 2) providing responses in writing and verbally to staff or customers, which included advising on the requirements for requesting action from an Agency/organization; and 3) explaining regulatory requirements to customers.

EDUCATION: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Master's Degree from an accredited university related to the duties of the position, such as Business Administration/Finance.

OR

COMBINATION: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work, or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Additional information

Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position.

SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes a locality rate of 42.87 % for the Alexandria, Virginia geographical area.
