The Kennedy Center, which opened on September 8, 1971, is located on 17 acres overlooking the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. The Center continues its efforts to fulfill President Kennedy's vision by producing and presenting an unmatched variety of theater and musicals, dance and ballet, orchestral, chamber, jazz, popular, world, and folk music, and multimedia performances for all ages.

Job Description:

The Bartender will provide beverages and snacks for approximately 5000 donors in the Circles private lounges: The Russian, Israeli and Chinese Lounges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

50% Setup two hours before curtain and actually open to donors one hour prior to curtain up.

50% Bus tables and replenish snacks for intermission. Open for intermission and then break down.

N/A Other duties as assigned. Maintain clean and healthy environment in the lounges. Set up cultivation events, green rooms & trustee's box. VIP setup in the lounges.

N/A Responds to the needs and requests of Kennedy Center management and staff in a professional and expedient manner, and adheres to all employer policies and procedures.

Key Qualifications:
  • High School Education
  • At least one year experience in the restaurant, lounge or service industries.


Who You Are:
  • You have strong customer service skills and are highly professional.


Physical Demands:

Long periods on your feet, quick drink-making ability and multitasking with several customers at once are just a few of the physical demands associated with this fast-paced profession. This position infrequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Private Circles lounges similar to 5-star hotels or country clubs.
