Position Summary The American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) is seeking an individual to manage the organization's professional development program portfolio. This portfolio consists of three leadership development programs which include Associates, Voyagers and Partners; the Fellows and NexUS communities; and the ACT-IAC Academy. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in meetings and events planning, as well as an understanding of effective program execution. Experience in the management of professional development/education/adult learning is ideal. The Director of Professional Development will manage the Partners Program, the Fellows program and activities of the ACT-IAC Academy. The Director of Professional Development will also oversee the Manager of Professional Development, who manages the Associates Program, the Voyagers Program, and ACT-IAC NexUS. The individual will work closely with volunteer leaders to successfully plan and execute meeting and training events that fulfill the objectives of each program's curriculum. Additional duties include assisting with logistics and execution of other ACT-IAC activities, including premier ACT-IAC conferences, as assigned. Duties include some evening and weekend requirements. Program Overview ACT-IAC provides three of the most valuable and highly respected professional development programs in the government IT community. Graduates of these programs are uniquely qualified to advance to the next stage in their career. These professional development programs are only open to members of ACT-IAC. These programs are: ACT-IAC Associates program - Prepares entry-level professionals (five years or less experience) for their future roles as leaders in government and industry. Each candidate must be recommended by an executive in his or her respective company or agency. ACT-IAC Voyagers Program - A leadership development program for "rising stars" in government and industry with high potential for future advancement. This program is intended for individuals in government and industry at the GS-11/13 and equivalent industry level. ACT-IAC Partners Program - A leadership development program created for senior leaders in government and industry (GS-15 and industry equivalent) who are committed to improving government through the application of technology. ACT-IAC also has two communities which fall under Professional Development: ACT-IAC Fellows - An alumni association for those individuals who have completed one of the programs as either a class member or as a leader. The nearly 850 Fellows regularly participate in professional and social events.
