GPS Product Support Technician The GPS Product Support Technician position is responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, assessing hardware damage and potentially repairing hardware whenever possible. Responsibilities include working with hardware suppliers and carriers to identify issues with hardware, firmware and network issues. The GPS Product Support Technician will assist engineering in evaluating new hardware and GPS technology and coordinate with manufacturing on the introduction of new GPS products into production. Responsibilities: Managing GPS and SIM inventoryQC parts inspectionFlashing firmware and firmware checksConfiguring GPS hardware and running performance testsR&D testing of new GPS equipment and SIMsRunning GPS performance reportsProcessing RMA's for inspection, testing and repairSIM management at carriers, provisioning, suspending, deactivatingTroubleshooting firmware, provisioning or performance issues with carriers and GPS hardware suppliersProcessing RMA's for inspection, testing and repairAssisting in researching/vetting/sourcing GPS vendors and product Strong Pluses Experience with Debugging TechniquesExperience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etcSQL experience, basic to somewhat complex query construction, execution, analysis of resulting dataExperience with GPS technology, particularly related to location-based reporting of assets / vehicles / equipmentExperience with vehicle-based equipment and the associated electrical systems / wiringKnowledge of various cellular data products and associated infrastructureExperience utilizing cellular carrier support portals
