The Senior Information Manager will manage the Information Governance Program ( IG Program ), and will first be responsible for building and implementing the IG Program then maintaining and monitoring the performance of IG Program initiatives over time. The Information Governance Program Manager is expected to play a strategic role in the inter-departmental management of corporate information and will frame complex issues to develop multi-level approaches for breaking these issues down into manageable pieces from planning to implementation. Responsibilities Develops, implements and manages an enterprise-wide Information Governance (IG) program, which will include the strategy and roadmap for all types of paper and electronic information. The program will include, but will not be limited to, the set of multi-disciplinary structures, policies, procedures, processes and controls to be implemented to manage information on all media in such a way that it supports the organization s current and future regulatory, legal, risk, environmental and operational requirements. Provides subject matter expertise on records management issues to executives, management, departmental Information Governance Coordinators ( IG Coordinators ), and the general employee population. Evaluates and recommends technology solutions for short term and long term records initiatives. Coordinates with business units to develop and drive IG programs to enhance employee productivity and innovation Works with staff assigned to manage vendor relationships, ensuring third-parties who work with stay in compliance IG policies and procedures. Collaborates with IT stakeholders to evaluate and recommends technical solutions, which will drive IG Program forward. Oversees the IG management related budget, forecasting and reporting activities. Coordinates moving paper records between the company and all off-site storage locations and manages IG related vendor relationships to ensure compliance with all company policies. Completes other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent knowledge of records retention requirements and protocols Exemplary information management knowledge and technical skills, including knowledge of records management systems, electronic records handling, imaging and emerging technologies. Ability to work across multiple business units including, but not limited to Legal, IT and Human Resources. Ability to work independently with high productivity, accuracy, and sense of urgency Prior experience with Federally regulated grants and contracts, preferably research related Excellent communication, listening, interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate records management process clearly in litigation andor regulatory proceedings Knowledge of Microsoft Office, automated records management systems, scanning and capture systems, and document management systems. Advanced analytical, problem solving, and planning skills. In-depth knowledge of relevant data compliance requirements (ie, HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, State Privacy Laws, EU Privacy, etc.) Minimum Experience 10+ years information management experience, with a minimum of 6 years experience in RecordsInformation Management planningrequirements for electronic systems, related business processes and statutory requirements compliance. Required Licenses, Certification or Registration Records Management Certificate (CRM) or other Information Governance Professional Certification not required, but highly desirable CIPP or other privacy certification highly desirable Work Environment Office environment some travel to other facilities may be required
