In response to this challenge, Peraton is seeking an Oracle Database Developer to provide proven, industry leading capabilities to our law enforcement customer. Responsibilities What you'll do Support an operational system that has a large database built from 25 years of data, receives continuous feeds of new automated feeds and user uploads Develop and maintain backend Java components and associated Oracle PL/SQL (packages, stored procedures and functions) Implement and update backend data access layer (DAO) objects, interacting with Oracle packages, stored procedures and stored functions Implement and update Oracle packages, stored procedures, stored functions and associated DDL/SQL/DML; prepare installation and/or patch scripts for deployment to DBA team Update the database structure to keep up with updated data types and relationships Implement and update mappings between data access layer objects and domain objects. Implement and update service layer objects to interact with DAO objects Implement and update other Java and/or Oracle components as required Prepare DML scripts and/or stored procedures to correct and delete information as required by operation business needs Develop a strong understanding of the business requirements for a system managing a large, challenging data set Monitor and take proactive steps to increase the availability and minimize the outages of the Enterprise Oracle Databases. This includes tasks focused on defining and tracking relevant metrics, database development activities as well as tuning the databases. Support activities that include on call (24/7) monitoring of the critical production databases and taking reactive procedures to provide business continuity Qualifications You'd be a great fit if You've obtained a BS degree and have eight (8) years of relevant experience. However, equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree. You have ten (10) years of experience with programming and software development including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting and/or upgrading of software systems You have five (5) years of experience architecting software solutions based on customer requirement You have five (5) years of experience leading technical team You have three (3) years of experience designing and implementing automated build and deployment pipelines and supporting platform You have one (1) year of experience troubleshooting and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability You have a current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph It would be even better if you Have experience with Backend Java development, specifically JDBC code, accessing relational databases Are able to create complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and reports using SQL Have experience with Oracle design and development Are advanced in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL design and development Have experience with the following: Spring Framework Java persistence frameworks (JdbcTemplate) Build tools such as (Maven, Ant) Source control (Git) xUnit testing frameworks (Junit) Continuous Integration servers (Jenkins) What you'll get An immediately-vested 401(K) with employer matching Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Tuition assistance, financing, and refinancing Company-paid infertility treatments Cross-training and professional development opportunities Influence major initiatives *This position requires the candidate to have a current Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain a polygraph.
