Summary

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a senior level program analyst responsible for developing, analyzing, and coordinating joint staff positions supporting the Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) related to future vertical lift aviation material and non-material capabilities in support of Combatant Commanders' requirements, needs and future strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0343-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serves as a senior analyst performing complex and comprehensive analysis in support of the Force Support (FS) Division Chief and the Chair of the FS and Force Application (FA) Functional Capabilities Boards for the Joint Staff DJ-8.
  • Provides in-depth analyses and assessments of the FSD and FA portfolio, with specific emphasis on future vertical lift aviation material and non-material capabilities.
  • Provides technical expertise and proper communication in support of synchronization efforts for the integration and coordination of future vertical lift aviation capabilities across all DOD Functional Capability Boards

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Providing technical expertise regarding synchronization efforts of Force Support and Force Application Capability Areas with a focus on future vertical lift aviation system capabilities.
  • Conducting complex program analysis with an understand of the Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Services, Components and the combatant commands' organizational structure, mission, and programs.
  • Practical application of Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and management principles, policies, practices and procedures
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
