The Role Government Contracts Specialists enable us to meet and exceed the full gamut of our contractual obligations through the acquisition s lifecycle. As part of the company s in-house legal team, Government Contracts Specialists work closely with partners from across the business in Engineering, Finance, and Business Development. Though Government Contracts Specialists focus on government contracts, they contribute to the team's broader mandate by helping push deals across the finish line and supporting other projects that arise at our fast-paced, mission-focused company. As a Government Contracts Specialist, you will draft contracts, lead negotiations, and provide guidance to the business on complex proposals. You are energized by navigating deals through bureaucracy and managing external relationships with government customers, and your entrepreneurial natures helps you keep pace with the company's diverse and growing portfolio of government partnerships. You constantly seek more ownership and impact and in this role there is always a new challenge to conquer. Core Responsibilities Serve as a practitioner of the entire acquisition s lifecycle (sole source and competitive), including Quotes, ROMs, and Proposals as a Prime andor Subcontractor. Facilitate and support proposal preparation, RFI responses, and contract negotiations. Stay up to date on relevant legal frameworks, including FAR and DFARS. Manage relationships with procurement office representatives at government agencies. Assist in the strategy development for new business. What We Value At least 4 years of government contracting experience. Familiarity with software licensing, commercial item acquisition, andor Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition are all a plus. An active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one, at Secret level or higher. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. A strong interest in technology technical background preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong writing, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with teams across the business to achieve desired outcomes. Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to operate under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Availability outside of standard working hours as needed per the needs of the team.
