Media Buyer/PlannerThe Media Buyer/Planner position at Media Works offers a unique opportunity to plan and buy all media while also occasionally wearing the hat of an account manager. The role is responsible for the negotiation and placement of all media for existing clients and new business. The position straddles the line of both traditional and digital media planning and buying and paid social campaigns. This position is involved in media research and strategy alignment for the overall media plan. Training and advising media coordinators and working with client teams is also a function of this job. Position Requirements/Responsibilities:. Meets with traditional and digital media representatives and analyzes proposals and packages. Provides new and emerging media ideas to grow clients' business. Gathers, organizes & presents competitive and industry research as well as preparing market analysis. Determines best use of multi-platform media mix including traditional, digital, and social media outlets to best meet clients goals and objectives. Processes changes on media buys and confirmation paperwork. Acts as liaison between media vendors and the agency. Participates in client meetings for media plan presentation and strategizing sessions. Attends individual media presentations and/or industry presentations to keep current with industry changes. Resolves billing discrepancies as needed. Knows and stays up-to-date on all available market and consumer information necessary for the preparation of the most effective and efficient media planning. Negotiates best rates, CPM's, CPP's, special time parameters, value-added sponsorships and promotions, bonus impressions, e-newsletters. Understands rating estimates as well as digital performance metrics such as CTR and conversion rates. Works closely with all assigned media personnel in the group with evaluation of media information necessary to the preparation of the media plan that best implements the media objectives and strategies. Helps to train media assistants and interns at the agency. Analyzes all post buys and works with stations to make up under delivery weight or impressions. Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the overall media strategy SKILLS:Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power PointExperience with media buying software, Strata a plus!Experience with digital ad servers such as Double Click and Extreme ReachExperience pulling media research from various sources and programs such as Prime LingoAbility to multi-task/time management skills in a fast-paced & fun environment
