Job DescriptionHigher Logic is looking for a Manager of Software Engineering who will lead a group of our software engineers spread across multiple Scrum teams to deliver new and updated features for our SAAS products we deliver to our customers. The individual will help assist the ongoing transformation of the engineering department to Agile/Scrum. The position will be based in our Arlington, VA HQ and report to the Vice President of Product Development.ResponsibilitiesManage a group of Software Engineers spread across multiple Scrum teams.Work with group members to develop their skills and competencies in line with the organizational needs and employee career interests.Collaborate with the Engineering leadership team, including other Managers of Software Engineering, to establish best practices for engineering teams.Foster and inspire continuous improvement across Engineering department.Coach group members with the Agile/Scrum process.Create an environment where engineers can do the best work of their life.Identify and drive organizational change as part of the Engineering leadership team. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Technology. Engineering or related field preferred.Passion for technology with 5-7+ years of experience developing software. Our stack features .NET including back-end development using SQL databases. However, we are open to all technologies. 1-3 years managing and leading full life-cycle software development teams. Experience with the development process through design, implementation, and deployment.Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices and methodology with 2+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum software development processes.Strong consulting skills and ability to establish relationships with other business leaders.Experience building and maintaining SAAS applications, ideally using the AWS platform.Thorough understanding of continuous delivery practices.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
