OverviewWe are seeking a driven Systems Engineer to join our team. We have deployed the worldA cents € (TM) s first and global space-based air traffic surveillance system, which is revolutionizing the entire aviation industry. The system provides real-time aircraft monitoring spanning have never covered areas of the planet, including remote, oceanic and polar regions. Our receivers are hosted on the Iridium constellation, which consists of 66 operational satellites in low-earth orbit and utilizes a unique cross-linked satellite architecture creating a web of coverage around the world. The system enables safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly aviation travel, resulting in significant CO2 emission reductions. Numerous Air Navigation Service Providers have already signed on as customers and are receiving our space-based ADS-B data, including NAV CANADA, NATS (UK), Naviair (Denmark), Enav (Italy), the Irish Aviation Authority, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Air Traffic and Navigation Services (South Africa) and more.ResponsibilitiesAre you a cloud and on-prem Linux Guru? We're looking for you!The engineering team is seeking an engineer to help maintain and monitor the development and integration environments. This role will also be key to the engineering teamA cents € (TM) s selection of hardware and software used within the system. Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the engineer will be responsible for a unique engineering environment of mostly Linux boxes, CI servers, and help to plan and design remote Linux appliances.Maintain, administer, and monitor the on-prem and cloud-based Linux-based engineering assets used for development, integration, and data analysisMaintain development environments including continuous integration (CI), build servers, and the development/integration instance of GitIdentify key functional and operational requirements for computing systems and platforms.Drive selection and specification of hardware and cloud instances for new development and upgrades in collaboration with the software and Systems Engineering teamsCollaborate with the software and Systems Engineering teams on new hardware selection for future upgrades to the operational systemCollaborate with the software and Systems Engineering teams on new software and OS selection for future upgrades to the operational systemDevelop scripts to ease administration and monitoring of assetsAnalyze and troubleshoot errors and logsMaintain Anaconda kickstart scripts and automated configuration tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)Maintain data recording storage devices and facilitate offsite backupContribute to engineering trade studiesAssist test and development teams with development and integration tasksRegularly communicate with engineering team on environment statusProactively suggest upgradesRequired QualificationsBS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Information Technology degree5 or more years operating as an admin or expert in a Linux environmentExperience scripting in Bash, Python, or PerlExperience with on-prem virtualizationExperience with AWS or AzureRHEL/CentOS 6/7 ExperienceAble to obtain a public trust (SF-85P) security clearancePreferred QualificationsAutomation and provisioning experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or CobblerRed Hat Certified System AdministratorExperience with the Atlassian tool suite - JIRA and ConfluenceExperience building RPM or DEB packagesKnowledge of setting up local package mirrorsExperience with monitoring tools: ex: Icinga, Nagios, WhatsUp GoldFamiliarity with SNMPAviation surveillance experienceFor more information please contact Ryan Logan at Rockhammer Talent Solutions Direct Dial: 301-637-5482 Email: ryan.logan@ Rockhammer Talent Solutions Web: http:
