APL is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join a team of dedicated professionals developing software in support of Trident Weapon System data analysis. As a Software Engineer you will Design, develop and implement new software, create solutions in existing software, and modernize legacy software. Work across the entire software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and sustainment). Work closely with other developers, systems engineers, end users, and sponsors to understand system needs and develop overall solutions that will meet these needs.Contribute to the development, deployment, and field testing of Data Acquisition Systems. Assist Project Managers in the coordination of technical development teams and communications with external vendors, contractors, and sponsor representatives. Support the coordination of test events including logistics, personnel assignments, external dependencies, and data needs.You meet our minimum requirements for the position if you Have a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, math, or other related discipline with coursework in software developmentHave at least two (2) years of experience developing applications in C#, Java, C , Python, or a comparable object-oriented languageAre willing to rapidly learn new languages and frameworks Have experience with Windows and Linux development environmentsHave experience using professional software development tools such as software design tools, version control, issue trackers, and debuggersHave expert verbal and written communication and interpersonal collaboration skills; must work effectively as a team player in a technical team environmentHold an active Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship. Are willing and able to travel both in the US and internationally, not to exceed a few trips per year.
