Under the direction and supervision of the CD Program Manager the Chemical Dependency (CD) counselor at Adventist Behavior Health and Wellness Services (ABHWS) is responsible for providing quality therapeutic services to patients to better cope with their cycle of addiction. CD counselor provides educational groups, 1:1 counseling, family education and assists patients with developing a recovery management plan for long-term abstinence.

Clinical license and/or certification are in good standing with the Board of MD
Attend in-service trainings as required
Facilitate educational groups inpatient and outpatient programs
Knowledge of motivational interviewing approach and transtheoretical model
Record accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Represent ABHWS at meetings or committees as required by manager

Qualifications:
BS in Human Service Field with CAC/CSC Certification
MA/MS in Counseling/Social Work with License
Minimum CAC-AD required, LGPC/LMSW or LCPC/LCSW-C preferred.

Work Schedule:

Potential staff should be familiar with applying the ASAM criteria during an assessment to determine the appropriate level of care.
