If you possess a strong financial aptitude, robust analytical skills, and are detail oriented, apply to join the Credit Loss Reporting team within Freddie Mac's Single Family Finance group as a Financial Controller Professional. You will be responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial close execution and reporting on financial results for non-performing loans and STACR issuances.

Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:


  • Prepare and review journal entries and support packages related to performance of non-performing loans and STACR issuances.
  • Prepare reconciliation and data validation packages related to monthly entries.
  • Prepare amounts and support related to external reporting disclosures in the 10K/10Q and FHFA reports.
  • Prepare or review monthly and quarterly analyses for analytical reports
  • Research and resolve data or other issues as they arise in daily or monthly tasks

  • Support and coordinate with internal and external audit
  • Support SOX documentation requirements
  • Prepare ad-hoc requests when needed
  • Leverage financial industry experience to ensure that accounting complies with GAAP and Freddie Mac policy

Project Management
  • Interact and communicate effectively with business and other upstream or downstream partners
  • Proactively seek opportunities for enhancements
  • Solve accounting or data issues with internal and external stakeholders (change management team, traders or valuation team etc.) in a transparent and timely manner
  • Demonstrate ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish
  • Work effectively with others


  • Typically has 0-2 years of accounting or reporting experience, finance industry experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA is preferred
  • Must have solid communication (both verbal and written) and analytical skills
  • Must be a team player, proactive, and detail oriented
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to adjust and adapt to changes in the current processes in order to meet management/company's changing needs
  • Time management skills are essential
  • Strong data mining skills preferred (SQL, MicroStrategy)
  • Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills
