Responsibilities

The incumbent is involved in policy development and analysis; development of divisional planning, goals, and objectives; and analysis of effectiveness and efficiency of various divisional programs. He/she will also develop program needs, compile and analyze data, generate reports, and correspondence based on data obtained from various programmatic areas including morbidity, mortality and epidemiology data. Will be involved in divisional functions required for program review analysis (strategic planning, management assessment, and program analysis).

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.

Education

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position.

Experience

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.

Some examples of this qualifying experience are:

GS-12:
  • Experience in analyzing and evaluating information concerning management processes, to draw conclusions and recommend appropriate action to resolve issues relating to a health services operation.
  • Experience in utilizing automated health data systems to maintain and evaluate health services operations.
  • Experience in identifying, interpreting, and utilizing information from multiple sources in the development of reports, operational policies and procedures for a health services program.
  • Experience in conducting program analysis of a health services program.

GS-13:
  • Experience in analyzing information to identify trends and issues, make recommendations in the formulation, establishment or modification of program objectives, plans, and/or policies related to a health services operation.
  • Experience in the development and management of health services programs or revising existing programs and evaluating them for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Experience in analyzing program operations, operational effectiveness and functions of a health services program.
  • Experience conducting management surveys, projects, and providing advisory services to management.

Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.

This position IS NOT included in the bargaining unit.

The representative rate for this position is $109,088 per annum ($52.27 per hour).

Special Conditions of Employment Section:

The incumbent is subject to geographic relocation to meet the needs of the agency.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a urinalysis, physical, and background investigation. All applicants are subject to National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and credit checks.
