Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Management Support Specialist (N1 Department Head) at the GG-14 grade level performing technical, administrative and management tasks that involve supervision of other subordinate managers or supervisors or the direction of units, functions, or projects that may be staffed by civilian and military personnel.

Responsibilities

  • You will manage department resources to include programming and execution of an annual budget.
  • You will monitor enterprise-wide plans, programs and goals such as the Advanced Professional Education (APE), Joint Duty Assignment (JDA), Civilian Leadership Program (CLP), Senior Leadership Development (SLD) and annual command awards.
  • You will establish training objectives, policy, and guidance for the commands career fields.
  • You will initiate ways to improve production and increase the quality of work directed.
  • You will perform technical and administrative supervision tasks to include: setting employee objectives and goals, evaluating and rewarding performance, assessing and providing training needs, and handling grievances.
  • You provide recommendations on long range plans, goals, and objectives for the department.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as:
  • Providing direction and guidance in manpower, personnel, training, and education for the command.
  • Overseeing the development and issuing of policy, guidance, products, and services related to employee development.
  • Preparing and managing budgets for training, development, and projects.
  • Developing and providing guidance to managers and supervisors regarding personnel matters to include: appropriate manpower levels, review of organizational requirements, employee relations issues, and improving the utilization of staff within the agency.
