Responsibilities

As Information Technology Program Manager, you will serves as a technical authority providing technical guidance to management, clients, including IT managers, on critical issues related to information systems security and desktop systems management.

Some of the major duties and responsibilities will be to:
  • Provide technical and programmatic leadership to colleagues, other staffs' personnel, contractors, supervisors, senior management and to the Chief Information Officer on information technology security issuess.
  • Ensure that the security of installed and proposed IT systems comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct the certification and accreditation process of new and existing systems following NIST and US DOJ standards. This includes but is not limited to desktop systems, LAN, WLAN, and storage systems.Provide emergency response and investigation of information systems security breaches.
  • Manage initiatives to enhance implementation of information systems security for all new and deployed systems.
  • Support the daily security operations of MS enterprise infrastructure including but not limited to Windows, Windows Server, Active Directory, and System Center Configuration Manager.

Qualifications

GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must have at least ONE year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal Service.
Specialized experience is defined as: Validating security and compliance for information technology initiatives based on existing laws, standards, and guidance including the Federal Information Security Management Modernization Act (FISMA) of 2014, National Institutes and Standards of Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework and associated guidelines (e.g., Security Publications 800-37, 800-52, and 800-53); Federal Risk & Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), or equivalent IT Security guidance. Assessing impact of information system change requests, overseeing configuration management deviations from required Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) or equivalent, managing associated corrective actions equivalent to Plans of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms). Conduct systems security evaluations and reviews of policy enforcement practices to ensure secure information systems reliability and accessibility. Preparing Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) packages. Reviews changes for security impacts for an organization's managed IT systems. In addition, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
