The Executive Program Director, Development and Fundraising supervises the Volunteer Coordinator and the Fundraising Administrator and is responsible for the design and execution of all development activities including the successful strategies to fundraising for new contracts and grants, sources funding streams for new funding sources for human service program expansion in priority or targeted areas based on the Board of Directors approved strategic plan. In addition, the responsibilities include collaborating on the creation and implementation of an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan that is centered on the mission, vision and strategic objectives of our organization. The position requires proven success in a combination of the following areas: Grant Writing Public Relations / Marketing Campaigns Government funding source RFP's Social Media and Networking Research on Federal Grants Donor cultivation & relationships City funding source development Business partnerships Corporate Sponsorship Board relationships Committee Oversight Fundraising Event planning REQUIREMENTS Master's Degree in Business or related field preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Sales or a related field or Five (5) years' experience with demonstrable results in fund raising, grant writing, RFP and development activity. At least five years must have been in a management position working with or for non-profit organizations and must have included overall management of a fundraising program. Excellent Computer Skills in Microsoft Office and office products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage conflict resolutions Bilingual in any language a plus RESPONSIBILITIES Provides strategic leadership for all organization fundraising and Grants/Federal funding activities to drive successful growth centered on mission/vision and strategic goals and objectives. Assist the service line vice presidents and program directors in identifying and executing effective fund development strategies to grow health and human services in the region. Understand the different service lines and develop Federal, State and City funding sources that can enhance program services or creating new support. Collaborate in the efforts to design, evaluate and execute special events to assure the proper mix of fundraising and image. These events should be properly planned and include thorough after-event thank you letters and follow-up. Identify and cultivate collaborative strategic partnerships that will complement existing program or services in strategic growth areas for service units or the organization. Partner with contractors or agencies for the strategic direction and implementation of the corporate public relations and marketing plans. Build a strong corps of stakeholders and productive relationships in Virginia Manage external contractors or agencies, as required Prepare dashboards and outcomes based measures that will be shared with the Executive Management Team and the Board of Directors. Perform other duties as assigned. EXPECTATIONS Documentation binders and communication binders are reviewed on a monthly basis to ensure all processes are followed according the VOAC's policies and procedures. Participate in professional training programs to improve leadership skills and ability to provide additional leadership support and oversight. EFFECT ON END RESULT Increase the success rate for grant writing and awards that will support program services and meet Chartering requirements which is a minimum of 10% of total revenue. Increase public and community awareness in the Virginia and visibility of Volunteers of America Chesapeake, Inc. in the region in measurable metrics. Increase commitment and involvement of board members and program directors in fundraising to achieve 100% engagement during tenure. Increase the percentage of grants and multi-year foundation donations received based on fiscal year fundraising goals. Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment. Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
