Do you have experience moving a team from great to excellent? We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based out of our Reston, VA headquarter who is passionate about driving HR strategy and business impact! The HRBP role is both a strategic and hands on role that will partner with their client groups to deliver talent needs and provide guidance, consultation, and direction regarding employee relations, performance management, development, staffing, and organizational changes. The HRBP will develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization and act as a trusted and valued business partner that ensures the integration of HR programs in compliance with federal, state and local laws. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. This position will also be responsible for driving people and culture projects in creating the best employee experience and will develop new solutions for HR challenges. A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the 'pulse' of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement is required. Responsibilities Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to multiple areas of the business and leaders. Advise leadership on all people matters to help meet business objectives and priorities, including performance management, compensation, benefits, development programs, immigration, talent management, etc. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (eg, coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Assists foreign national employees with visa process Provides guidance and input on business restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies and drives training needs for business and individual executive coaching. Partner with business leaders and talent acquisition to drive cross- collaboration initiatives and programs that build and advance the intelligence talent pipeline. Review and analyze business metrics including data on retention and employee experience to align with Octo's employee value proposition. Work with business and HR to assess, create, and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives within the business. Partner with business and the HR team to diagnose business needs and implement solutions to continually improve organizational performance. Supports the development and implementation of human resources programs, policies, processes and procedures to support organizational effectiveness and operational efficiency. Travel (25%) between offices and client sites 8+ years of experience in progressive HR roles with broad knowledge and experience as an HRBP. Self-starter, able to handle ambiguity with a strong drive to deliver results. Broad HR expertise to include talent management, performance management, employee relations, and compensation with strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and ADP Workforce Now. Demonstrated experience in coaching, managing, and influencing leaders at multiple levels in a matrixed environment while building effective relationships to influence decisions. Broad HR expertise, strong business acumen, and be able to think big-picture and be resourceful in creating solutions. Ability to earn the confidence and trust of others by delivering on commitments and demonstrating high standards of ethical conduct. Demonstrated project planning and management skills. Ability to use diplomacy and tact in confrontational situations. Excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail. Must be able work independently. Experience with foreign nationals and various visa processes and legal requirements. Ability to develop and/or deliver presentations and/or training workshops. Experience using HR metrics to drive business results. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field. Location: Reston, VA
