Electrical Engineer Location: Herndon, VA Shift: Operations Shift Schedule, with some weekend work necessary Travel to sites throughout the US and the World Description Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. Be apart of a defense meteorological Space Integration and Test Team; support integration and testing of Satellites and Space Equipment in a laboratory environment Capture, analyze and test spacecraft/satellite systems comprised of payloads, sensors, instruments, and other electronic subsystems and components to support customer requirements. Define test plans and procedures; perform formal tests for requirement verification. Develop/maintain processes and procedures for assembly, integration, and testing of spaceflight and satellite systems. Develop, execute and maintain test scripts to perform sequenced commanding and telemetry verification. Troubleshoot network problems using a combination of hardware, software, power, and communications issues. Replace boards, install computing systems and install hardware and software upgrades. Design automation circuits and hardware/software controlled systems; create line diagrams, detailed assembly and installation drawings, signal flow diagrams, and circuit schematics. Perform configuration control manager (CCM) functions for maintaining release control and approval process of t-specs or software scripts. Test, evaluate, and analyze space system flight and non-flight hardware; work in a team environment to test equipment to ensure compliance, analyze data and provide recommendations resulting in new cost-saving equipment. Required Experience: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering 3-5 years of hands on professional experience Experience with STOL or C++ and Python.
