As a key member of the Capital Markets Compliance second line of defense (2LOD) team, your primary responsibilities are to perform activities to oversee the effectiveness of Freddie Mac's first line securities and derivatives activities. Your focus will be to operationalize and mature Compliance 2LOD Program elements including Governance, Risk Assessments, Regulatory Change Management, Policies, Standards and Procedures, Monitoring, Testing, Data Measurement, Reporting, Training, Issues Management, and Regulatory Interaction. Under Freddie Mac's Enterprise Risk Management framework, the Compliance Capital Markets Senior builds, uses, and maintains tools and information to support building a program and culture which emphasizes execution, partnership, flexibility, and excellence. The position requires exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Capital Markets Compliance is responsible for 2LOD oversight of securities and derivatives compliance risk in our Single Family, Multifamily and Investments & Capital Markets divisions.

Your Responsibilities Will Mostly Fall Into the Following Categories:

Analysis and Assessment
  • Execution of Compliance Risk program and Enterprise Operational Risk Policy
  • Support Subject Matter Experts performing compliance risk assessments and training on securities and derivatives compliance risks of business areas including Single Family, Investments & Capital Markets, and Multifamily
  • Execute monitoring of securities and derivatives activities, and communicate results in reports
  • Lead the identification and onboarding of new employees to the compliance monitoring program

Data Management and Reporting
  • Own and maintain databases and logs of compliance monitoring activities, including MS Access databases leveraged across the department
  • Lead the department's compliance with corporate obligations such as privacy standards and records management requirements
  • Track open inquiries, issues and conditions
  • Respond to capital markets industry third party requests for information
  • Execute and enhance management reporting


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Typically has 5-7 years of directly related experience in an Enterprise Risk Management role
  • Strong demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Experience using Excel, Access, and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of mortgage industry
  • Experience writing policies and procedures
