Perspecta has an immediateupcoming need for a Configuration Management Specialist in Washington, DC. Perspecta is currently conducting interviews to make contingent offers for an exciting potential new customer, the Department of Labor (DOL). Candidates with a current Public Trust clearance, and all other qualified personnel are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration. The customer states that employees working under this task order shall be United States Citizens or legal permanent residents (ie "Green Card Holders"). Under general direction, implements and supports local area network (LAN) and campus area network (CAN) hardware and software. Analyzes customer workflow and procedures to recommend operational support tools and technologies to satisfy customer needs. Ensures workstationsserver data integrity by evaluating, implementing and managing appropriate softwarehardware solutions. Acts as a liaison between the customer, suppliers, and other technical groups to resolve network and hardware problems. Analyzes performance problems and recommends solutions to enhance functionality, reliability andor usability. Participates on project teams in the implementation of newupgraded designs. Implements operational support standards and procedures relating to change management, performance management, and security. Recommends changes and improvements to existing standards. Ensures datamedia recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups, and database archive operations. Develops site administration documentation. Provides user orientation on hardware, software and network operations. Keeps abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends. Qualifications Education and Experience Required Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's Degree and 2 years of experience OR 4 years minimum experience Knowledge and Skills Required Experience supporting configuration management (CM) activities to establish and maintain the integrity of the products and associated baselines of IT systems, applications, or infrastructure throughout its life cycle. Helps ensure CM processes are consistent, repeatable, and predictable for maintaining enterprise baselines. Helps define procedures to evaluate changes to the enterprise infrastructure. Assist with maintaining te documentation of the processes and procedures in a Configuration Management Plan (CMP). Configuration Management experience defining requirements for controlling hardware and software configuration items (CIs) Establishing and controlling baselines for Hardware Configuration Items. HWCIs) and Software Configuration Items (SWCIs) including maintenance activities, software patches, updates, driver and firmware updates. Experience scanning environments or systems at agreed upon intervals to identify and catalogue any changes to CIs. Responsible for ensuring changes to CIs are captured through established change management process. Providing up-to-date statuses for items under CM control with Configuration Status accounting (CSA) along with supporting analysis Utilizing software based configuration management tools, if and as needed Establishment and maintenance of an Enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Definitive Media Library (DML). Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field a plus. ITIL v3 Foundation Level certification a plus. Security+ certification a plus CompTIA A+ certification preferred. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) certification a plus. An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain a clearance.
