Job Description The client requires the procurement of a Senior (Sr.) Business Analyst (BA). A new Purchase Order (PO) is required to procure a Sr. BA to perform technical analysis, document business processes, and make recommendations for process improvements, software enhancements, and integration, and the preparation of technical and business documentation. The client Apprenticeship Program is modernizing their technology support to meet current Federal and local government requirements. The Sr. BA will support the client effort to collect and report data required by client Apprenticeship Program, Senior Management, and the DC City Council. The Sr. BA will perform data analysis, document system requirements, prepare the business and technical documentation, document new business process, perform data mapping and prepare training materials, project documentation, testing materials and perform testing. The project strategy is implemented tasks in Phases. The three phases are to Go-Live with RAPIDS implement a Data Lake to collect reporting data from existing systems and the last phase is to develop a solution to collect remaining reporting data elements not currently tracked. Technical Responsibilities And Expectations Formulates and defines system data mapping and business workflow in support of deployment of a new system.. Ensure the data required for all reports is identified, perform data mapping, to ensure inputted data supports the reporting requirements for local, federal, and City Council reporting. Document all data elements and special processing requirements. Identify and document new workflows and automation flows required for data integration and the integration steps. Interface with intra-district agency technical staff to ensure that the customer s needs are properly understood to document any system specifications properly. Support the implementation of the Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Data System (RAPIDS). Prepare and maintain a Microsoft Project Plan and update as activities progress. Ensures that all project plan deliverables are met while ensuring the highest standards of quality. Develop and document a design model for a Data Lake to identify systems data elements and their system source. Perform technical analysis efforts by collecting information from agency business process owners, to include senior executives ( the customer ). Document requirements for all reports and identify the data source. Prepare system requirements to collect reporting data not currently available in existing systems. Validate interfaces are transferring data correctly. Coordinate work with the client team to build Microstrategy reports. Test new reporting components as they are developed, to ensure the data accuracy and the data is properly mapped. Produces electronic documentation based on client documentation standards. Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation. Demo Microstrategy and RAPIDS reports for management approvals. Skills BA experience Software Development Lifecycle experience Requirements gathering and documentation MS OfficePowerPoint, Visio, Word Excel experience Bachelor s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience Experience developing RFIs andor RFPs for major critical systems. Experience developing and designing technical design specifications documents. Experience in business process mapping. Experience as a technical writer in a softwareapplication development environment. Experience creating process flows and system architecture diagrams using Visio. Experience conducting integrated team sessions Experience working with technical staff such as software developers and DBAs Experience developing operational procedures and manuals. Experience with Systems Integration Experience in the collection of data for Data Warehouse or Data Lakes Experience conducting integrated team discussions
