Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a dynamic company who provides Human Resources Consulting Services to small and medium businesses. The HR Specialist role will be support to our client-facing HR Department. This role is a unique opportunity to become part of a team of strategic Human Resource professionals dedicated to serving our clients in all aspects of their day-to-day needs. The individual who holds this position will act as a primary contact for clients and field questions on general human resources matters. This is a great opportunity for an individual to grow their skill set as they will touch all areas of Human Resources within the organization. Being self-motivated, the ability to handle a high work volume, and having strong communication skills will be imperative for success in this position.

  • Provide solid HR support and guidance to our clients and their employees
  • Handle general human resources queries related to payroll, benefits, state and federal laws, policies and leaves of absences, and other HR matters
  • Provide accurate guidance to our clients and solid recommendations for employee relation issues and questions
  • Must be knowledgeable of employment laws (both State and Federal)
  • Support the HR Manager to ensure all client needs and requirements are met in a timely manner
  • Interact with various departments including payroll, benefits, risk management, and finance
  • Provide administrative support for new hire reporting, billing, and unemployment claims
  • Handle our client-facing Applicant Tracking System, to include providing demos and training to clients and configuring their set up preferences
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as required

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • 3-4 years solid experience in a Jr. Generalist or broad HR support role
  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (both State and Federal)
  • Solid experience in employee relation issues and be able to provide accurate and sound guidance and advice
  • Ability to manage priorities, workflow and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • A strong client focus with outstanding judgment, critical thinking, problem solving, and verbal and written skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office - advanced skills strongly preferred
  • Strong ability to learn new computer systems and take the lead on various projects
  • Advanced administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage projects while effectively addressing day to day responsibilities
  • Positive attitude and the ability to handle highly confidential information with maturity and diplomacy
