Freddie Mac's Single Family Division is currently seeking a Quantitative Analytics Manager to build, design and implement data ingestion, engineering of risk management data process as a manager of the IDEA (Innovation, Data Engineering and Analytics) team.

Your Work Falls Into Three Primary Categories

Technical Management
  • Manage IDEA Big Data Projects - Manages the implementation of new data consumption capabilities to meet SF Risk business needs in conjunction with Business Owner, Governance, Operations, and IT teams.
  • Leads large, strategic, cross-disciplinary business change efforts, often among members of a project team. Must be a technical leader that can drive project processes and technical projects to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Analyzes issues and develops viable solutions; and directs the work of internal and external resources as well as with our customers.
  • Mentor and train staff in the Big Data Tools and Technologies

Data Engineering
  • Reviews quantitative analyst program codes and scripts, which developed using Python, pySpark and SQL.
  • Owns one or more data ingestion pipelines and may also be considered analytical or procedural "experts" representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables.
  • Have experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets (Structured and Unstructured data) using Big Data tools
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends

  • Works with stakeholders to gather and manage the business requirements application migrations from on premise datacenters to cloud environments.
  • Works directly with Tech Leads and Directors to ensure project success
  • Working knowledge DevOps, Containerization and development of CI/CD pipelines
  • Present ideas and recommendations to management


  • Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field with 6 years of related experience
  • 5+ years of data analysis experience, with a combination of business and technical skills
  • Working knowledge of the business use cases and emerging technologies used in the exploitation of 'Big Data' including Hadoop related tools.
  • Expert knowledge of build, design, deploy of programming skills using Python, PySpark and SQL
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership aptitude and ability to engage others in developing risk management capabilities
  • Working knowledge of database, data warehouse, data modeling
  • At least 3 years of data strategy/ data warehouse experience and 2+ years of management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Current experience with Big Data platforms, tools implementation (Structured and unstructured data) function with working knowledge of modeling, analytic, dash boarding, and reporting tools. (Responsibilities should be within the last 6-12 months)
  • Project Management and People Management experience

  • Outstanding object-oriented design and programming skills in Python
  • Experience with distributed computing in a production environment
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Experience with AWS storage and compute services is a plus
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
