As a Commercial Roofing Estimator, you will be supporting our client, a well-respected facilities management and construction firm based in the Washington, DC area. Job Responsibilities The Commercial Roofing Estimator is responsible for providing full-service estimating for projects throughout the Washington, DC metro area. Specific duties include the following: Attend pre-bid site meetings to prepare accurate estimates Travel to customer's location to inspect roof and perform take-off. Measure roof and estimate the amount of roofing material and labor needed to reroof Analyze and comprehend project plans, specifications and details. Prepare construction progress schedule Prepare takeoffs / estimates for cost of material, labor and equipment from Architectural / Construction Specifications and Drawings. Create proposals and thorough bid packages for customers Follow-up on quotations and advise on tendering procedure. Review all contracts and accepted quotations Prepare project submittals for specified contract projects. Write up work orders and prepare material order sheets Prepare and maintain a directory of product suppliers. Review products used in projects Consult and communicate with project managers, architects, engineers and clients involved at all levels of a project Specific qualifications for the Commercial Roofing Estimator role include the following: Minimum of 5 years commercial roofing experience required Must have strong understanding of commercial flat roof systems and asphalt shingle systems Bachelor's degree preferred Strong project management and negotiation skills.
