We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Truck Mechanic to join a professional shop team in Manassas, Virginia. Duties:Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair: mechanical problems, air and hydraulic brake systems, pumps, fire apparatus (pumpers, and aerials, extension hydraulics), electrical systems, PM, diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of engines, suspensions, clutches, gear boxes, differentials, pumps, replace filters, and more.Requirements: Over 2 years of heavy truck, brake, suspension and hydraulic experienceValid CDL B or able to obtain one within 4 months of hirePerform road testing on vehiclesHS Diploma or equivalent Lift up to 50lbs, be able to work climb/balance to get to certain equipmentMust have own tools and able to work on Hydraulic and water pumps.Utilize and interpret manuals, schematics and diagramsAbility to prepare detailed repair operation reportsAchieve high-quality service repairs to minimize call-backs Mechanics with ASE and Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certifications preferred, those with transferable skills - Frontline command unit, dump truck, tractor trailer, crane and agriculture experience, will be given preference. The successful mechanic must pass all necessary State and Federal background checks, drug and alcohol test, and ideally clean driving record. Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00/hour to start. Ongoing training is provided. Bonus incentive program included.
