Equal Justice Works seeks an experienced consultant to help the organization integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into both its workplace and its work. Background InformationEqual Justice Works creates opportunities for lawyers to transform their passion for equal justice into a lifelong commitment to public service.We do this through:Connecting law students and law school professionals with opportunities to serve the public interest law community on their campuses and nationwide.Collaborating with law schools to enhance and expand their public interest law programming.Hosting the largest national public interest legal career fair that brings together law students and public interest employers from across the country to interview for job opportunities, build their public interest law network, and hear from noteworthy speakers.Facilitating Fellowships for public interest lawyers and law students to serve at legal services organizations across the country to increase equal access to justice for communities in need.Educating law students and lawyers about options to manage their student debt and advocating for loan repayment assistance programs and Public Service Loan Forgiveness. The ProjectEqual Justice Works seeks a consultant to help the organization define and advance a clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The staff and Board of Directors have made integrating DEI principles into our policies and practice one of the key initiatives of our recently approved Strategic Plan for 2020 - 2022. We envision three phases of the planning and implementation work in this period. For the first phase we aim to assess our current state and build a shared understanding of and commitment to DEI with internal stakeholders. The second phase will be developing a road map for implementation and assessment through the next three years. The third phase will be incorporating our commitment to DEI into work plans across the organization, executing those plans, and, finally, evaluating our efforts. This engagement focuses on completing phase one and making recommendations about phases two and three.
