Our client is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to support a program at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The Sr. Software Engineer will have C++ design, development, integration, and test experience on relevant DoD advanced embedded software systems. The Software Engineer will also develop and maintain any software related requirements, design, and testing documentation.Responsibilities:The successful candidate should have working knowledge of digital video formats, interface standards, video compression algorithms, video distribution, and video recording and playback systems.Participate in a team environment to hosted on experimental manned and unmanned ground combat vehicle platforms.Develop real-time video distribution, recording, and playback solutions for multi-spectral high-definition digital video sensor systems.Implement advanced video and image processing algorithms.The candidate will be part of a dynamic team of software engineers that support Science and Technology programs for US Army advanced Electro-Optical (EO) and Infra-Red (IR) sensor systems, weapons systems, ground combat vehicle systems, including robotics, and soldier systems. They are building augmented reality displays for drivers of the vehicles virtual screen on display sensor come in for that. They will be clearing the picture of dust, etc.Additional Skills and Responsibilities:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.* 10+ years C++ Object Oriented Development * Experience writing code from scratch and working 1000s of lines of code * Windows* Develop requirements based on client meetings * Good Communication & Leadership skills* Software Architect/Software Development/Systems Engineer* 2-3 years experience with digital video (dv), digital signal processor (dsp), or compression algorithms* 2-3 years experience with video sensor integration (hook up camera or infrared sensors talk to it and get data from it)* They need to be independent and creative thinkers as there is problem solving with this role.About Aerotek:We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
