Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Engineer with experience producing prototype and finished circuit boards to provided design files. Designs and develops information processing hardware, computer systems and electrical components. Oversee operations and maintenance of fabrication equipment and processes. Fabricates products using industry best practices and performs inspection of finished work. Interprets schematics and fabrication specifications, and sets up fabrication processes with the specified parameters. Establishes and documents fabrication procedures from point of production through completion. Conducts research, design, development and testing of circuit boards components, materials, and processes. Handles chemicals and hazardous waste, and provides Hazard Communication (HAZMAT/HAZWATE/HAZCOM) and is a first responder for spills in the facility. Maintains and updates Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS). Monitors work conditions in the fabrication area, condition and function of safety equipment, and internal maintenance and upkeep of fabrication equipment. Tests hardware performance to specifications. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced hardware engineers. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Participates in special projects as assigned. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline. 15+ years of related hardware engineering experience.At least two years of experience with mills, drills, laser, plating baths, chemical etching, plasma cleaning, layup and pressing machines, manual and automated inspection tools, solder masking, legend printing, and metal finishes used in the creation of circuit boards.Experience with hand-soldering, inspection, and assembly is preferred.Certification or ability to become certified in IPC-A-600, 610 and 620, J-STD-001, IPC-7711, IPC-7712, with IPC CIT and 6012 preferred.Training in HAZMAT, HAZWASTE, and/or HAZCOM.For more than 50 years, General Dynamics Information Technology has served as a trusted provider of information technology, systems engineering, training and professional services to customers across federal, state, and local governments, and in the commercial sector.
