Mindbank is Hiring a Web Content Administrator with STRONG SECTION 508 COMPLIANCE EXPERIENCE LOCATION: Washington, DC Must be a US Citizen SALARY: $70,000 - $80,000 Web Content Administrator for a government client in Washington DC that possesses the following skills: Web Content Administrator Responsibilities: Convert source documents to HTML, Word, and PDF and post documents to the agency's Internet and intranet websites. Edit HTML files to add and change links and content. Create, check, and edit HTML, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents to ensure compliance with Section 508 / 504 and WCAG 2.0 requirements for accessibility. Review and test documents and web pages to ensure compliance with agency guidelines for quality, usability, and accuracy. Scan hardcopy documents and use OCR software to convert and edit imaged documents to accessible text. Manipulate images and graphics for use in web and social media systems. Prepare text descriptions of images and graphics. Remediate broken website links. Implement user interface designs for websites based on established visual "look and feel," styles, navigation, and layout. Develop new or redesigned web pages that comply with policies, standards, and best practices. Work with division staff and web design, development, and quality assurance staff to satisfy user requirements and comply with division, department, and federal government web standards. Web Content Administrator Required Skills and Experience: Work Schedule Requirements: Must be willing to work an 11:00 am - 7:30 pm shift with a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Must have flexible schedule, willing to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or alternate shifts, when necessary. Occasionally requested to work additional hours (more than 40/week). Skills Requirements: . Designing and coding static web pages using HTML and PHP for Internet and intranet websites. . Converting documents from various source formats to Section 508 / 504 and WCAG 2.0 AA compliant HTML, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF. . HTML and PHP coding skills: Experience with Dreamweaver and manual HTML coding is required. . Adobe Acrobat (PDF) skills: o Experience creating accessible PDF files from various source formats is required o Experience modifying text-based and image-based (TIF) PDF files to accessible PDF is required . Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint . Adobe Acrobat Professional (DC) . HTML and PHP editors: Dreamweaver . Graphics packages: Photoshop . Scanning and OCR technologies . Social Media: RSS Feeds, Twitter, YouTube, GovDelivery . Broken links analysis . Web technologies: HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, RSS, JavaScript, PHP, and My SQL . Web content management systems: Drupal . Advanced understanding of Section 508 / 504 and WCAG 2.0 requirements for websites . Experience managing Section 508 / 504 and WCAG 2.0 compliant web content including HTML, PHP, PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files . Quality assurance and usability: Experience QCing web pages and websites for accuracy of provided content and consistency with established formatting and style guidelines. . Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. . Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated abilities to collaborate with technical, professional, and administrative/support staff and function well in a "team" environment. . Demonstrated ability to work within deadlines while balancing multiple projects and tasks . Strong attention to detail . Fast learner who takes the initiative in solving problems Demonstrated skills or experience in the following areas is preferred (but not required): Experience working for a federal government agency or law firm. Web standards: Understanding of and ability to implement W3C standards for HTML, PHP, CSS, and accessibility. DHS Trusted Tester certification and/or training. Preparation and review of technical documentation. Word Processors: WordPerfect . Scanning and OCR technologies: ABBYY FineReader . Broken links analysis: REL Web Link Validator .
