The job responsibilities and tasks are not limited to the following:Job ResponsibilitiesArea of ResponsibilityKey Elements and Essential TasksTime Spent on TaskWaste ManagementDaily pick up, transportation, segregation, and processing of hazardous chemical and biological waste. Waste consolidation. (if cleared for respirator use, etc. TBD).Schedule hazardous waste pick-ups with vendors and maintain manifestsSet up and distribute waste bottles for the LSRs weeklyPick up full drums of cooking grease from kitchen and set up new drum multiple times a month.Manage universal waste in satellite areas as well as accumulation area /other waste (as needed)Bulb (lighting) recyclingBattery disposalToner cartridge recycling 60%Chemical ManagementMaintain chemical inventory system by adding newly received chemicals into the inventory system and labeling the bottle properly.Remove empty chemical bottles or chemicals picked up for disposal from inventory system and manage/dispose of bottles. 60%InspectionsPerform inspections of safety equipment including:Safety showers and eyewash inspections monthly.AED inspections monthly.Inspections of hazardous waste storage rooms weekly.Inspection of chemical and oil spill kits monthly and restocking when needed.Inspection of emergency preparedness kits - evacuation bags and SiP kits (monthly) 60%OtherPick up dirty lab coats from LSRs.Distribute clean lab coats to LSRs.Management and organization of EH&S supplies and storage areas.Responds to emergency situations involving hazardous materials including spill responseAssists EH&S/C with responses to other emergency situations including fire and smoke incidentsPrepare reports for regulatory agencies and management as needed, such as waste accumulation amounts, inspection results, ect.Respond, investigate, suggest mitigation, and provide guidance regarding workplace incidents involving release of hazardous materials.Any and all other duties and tasks assigned 60%Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMINIMUM REQUIREDPREFERREDEducation/trainingHigh school diploma or equivalencyAssociate's degree in scientific fieldYears of relevant experience1-2 years 2 yearsSkills and knowledge2 YearsExperience in research, environmental, Biopharma or Biomedical labWaste management techniques.Other abilitiesGood communication skills, effective tact, diplomacy, and judgement dealing with personnel at all levels.Certifications/licensesRCRA, DOT, HAZWOPERPhysical work requirements and work conditionsThe job involves field work requiring frequent walking, bending, lifting, reaching.Lift and carry materials and equipment weighing 50 pounds or less and push or pull weighing 50 pounds or more.Must be able to pass a medical evaluation for wearing full-face respirators as well as wear protective clothing up to and including Level B chemical protective ensembles and steel-toe safety shoes.Account Specific NotesJLL Privacy NoticeJones Lang LaSalle (JLL), together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, is a leading global provider of real estate and investment management services.
