With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the warfighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team. 1. Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.2. Knowledge of the current industry hardware, software, and equipment.3. Professional certification in one or more relevant technologies.4. Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.5. Plans upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.6. Develops documentation on new or existing systems.7. Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.8. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.9. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.10. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.11. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibility.12. May serve as a technical team or task lead.13. Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.14. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.15. Participates in special projects as required. 1. BA/BS in a related discipline. 1. 8+ years of experience.2. VMware virtualization expertise is required to support both onsite and remote site activities.3. Install, configure and manage VMware virtualization environment components (vSphere, vRA, vROPS, ESX, NSX).4. Provide Operation and Sustainment support for the virtualization environment.5. Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards.6. Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VMware virtualization environment.7. Support diagnoses and troubleshooting of problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft Windows and Linux O/S systems.8. Within established procedures, responds to end user requests for technical support and assistance. 9. Support off-hours maintenance activities.10. Support the Certification and Accreditation process for virtualization hosts.11. Gain familiarity with current data center infrastructure.12. Maintain current industry knowledge of development concept, practices and procedures.13. Develop an in-depth understanding of the network baseline capabilities, design and objectives.14. Hands-on experience designing and implementing vROPS and/or Log Insight in a production environment, to include developing policies and custom dashboards.15. Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance.16. Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. 17. Depending on job assignment, additional specific certifications may be required. 18. This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide 19.
