As a Supply Control Coordinator you will ensure the efficient and timely use of materials and equipment at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Supply Control Coordinator

Serves in the Airport Logistics Management Division in the Airport Administration Department at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Serves as the point of contact for coordinating, ordering, issuing and maintaining materials and parts to support utilities maintenance and repair. Serves as liaison between Utilities Section Supervisors, Planner/Schedulers and the Airport Utilities Division Manager, and others in the purchase of these supplies. Performs related functions.


Responsible for daily inventory ordering, maintenance, and control functions for Utility Division parts/requirements.

Purchases material using Purchase Card (P-Card) Program.

Purchases, receives, manages, and organizes equipment and material; coordinates the use of such equipment and materials.

Investigates the cause of critical material shortages and delays in schedules and improves process to eliminate reoccurrence.

Locates suppliers and sources parts, prices, and availability of items by contacting sources and collecting comparative information while acting within Authority procurement guidelines.

Makes effective acquisitions, identifies and avoids potential problems, and develops and executes appropriate remediation in the event of inadequate supplies or equipment.

Assists in recommending policies and procedures for inventory control as required by changing needs and conditions.

Provides immediate attention to customer requests.

Maintains efficient flow of completed bills of material (BOM). Assists Planner Schedulers in analyzing and planning BOMs. Reviews and analyzes BOMs to identify parts and material needed, quantities needed, and dates required based on the complexity of the job.

Rectifies monthly charges related to P-Card transactions with Finance Department.

Performs supply functions necessary to support requisition and tracking; maintains files and records.

Conducts follow-up investigations with procurement staff to ensure timely delivery of materials.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Four years of progressively responsible experience in coordinating the efficient use of materials and equipment to complete maintenance and repair of equipment.

Skill in inventory control and use of an inventory system to document the receipt, storage, issuance of items; record backlogged items; update vendor information and generate inventory reports.

Ability to forecast equipment and material needs and to procure needed resources.

Knowledge of procurement logistics and ability to help procure and ensure just-in-time inventory control of equipment and material.

Knowledge of and ability to coordinate between utilities functions and supply and warehousing functions (this includes basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical supplies).

Basic knowledge of utility items/parts and ability to coordinate between utility functions and supply and warehousing functions.

Ability to work safely and knowledge of the safety rules, regulations, and procedures needed to do so.

Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

Skill in using a computer, computerized work order and time and attendance systems.


Experience using a computerized warehouse inventory system.


A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).


A state driver's license in good standing.


Operates vehicle landside and airside (requires AOA permit).

Work requires moderate to heavy physical exertion (lifting objects up to 50 pounds). May bend, stoop, crouch, and work in a cramped position.

May be subject to hold over and recall on a 24-hour basis for essential services and emergencies.

May be subject to adverse weather conditions and dust/grease/dirt.


A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
