Located in either our Ann Arbor, Michigan, Baltimore, Maryland or Richmond, Virginia office the HR Director will recommend, design, and implement HR programs and policies related to staffing, employee relations, training and development to support the growth and direction of the Firm. In addition, this person works closely with the CFO on matters related to compensation and employee health and group benefit programs. This position reports to the Executive Vice President Key responsibilities: Act as an advisor to Executive Staff, Office Directors, Practice Area leaders, and other key leaders on HR related matters.Develop processes for orientation, training, feedback, and other staff development activities as agreed to support desired culture and strategy.Maintain the Employee Handbook to ensure compliance and alignment with workplace initiatives. Provide education on handbook and serve as a resource to all staff.Partner with Executive Staff, Office Directors, and Practice Area Leaders to develop workforce planning initiatives that support the Firm's strategic direction.Collaborate with Executive Staff, Office Directors and Practice Area Leaders to evaluate talent acquisition needs and develop a best-in-class approach to recruitment and selection.Recommend tools and develop processes for attracting and retaining talent.Coordinate talent acquisition processes. Coordinate intern recruitment programs in in conjunction with staff liaisons with the schools. Expand and oversee on-boarding and orientation activities.Refine and champion the performance management processes that support business strategy and culture objectives. Oversee strategies that support a learning and development culture through formal training, experience-based programs, mentoring, and other initiatives.Lead organizational development of corporate initiatives such as consistent education and training for brand positioning, Vision, how-tos, QAQC, project management, etc. Work with Practice Area leaders to coordinate cross-office training related to expertise. Support local, staff-run education programs;Ensure that voluntary mentoring programs are responsive to staff inputCollaborate with the CFO, Office Directors and Practice Area Leaders, on initiatives related to a total rewards strategy, including compensation structure and benefits offerings.Conduct market analysis to determine competitive compensation plan options.Monitor and Evaluate incentive and bonus plans with respect to licensing, accreditation, certificates, etc.Assess benefit needs and trends; This includes engagement of external vendors and consultants to obtain expertise to manage the Firm's benefit and compensation plans, costs, strategies and compliance obligations.Coordinate benefit programming/administration. Work in conjunction with the CFO to recommend direction for compensation and benefits programs. Foster positive employee relations. Provide training, input, and guidance to managers and staff on employee relations. Assist management with resolution of employee relations issues.Ensure all HR-related legislative requirements are met (ADA, EEO, FMLA, I-9, ERISA, etc.). Remain up-to-date on regulatory trends and advise management of developments.Facilitate employee off-boarding process and analyzes exit interviews; recommending changes.Core Competencies7+ years' progressive experience as an HR focused leader. Must be able to provide strategic leadership, work with all levels of stakeholders and provide the best outcomes possible. Ability to build strong relationships across all functions to influence and inspire leadership.Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and use of other required systems.Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills.Must be able to maintain privacy and confidentiality of workforce data, concerns and ownership interests. Education Bachelor's degree in Management, Human Resources or related area. Master's degree preferred. HR Certification required (eg, PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
