The Retail Compliance Center (RCC) provides resources and guidance to help US retailers improve environmental performance. The RCC is also developing innovative and technology-driven solutions to improve program management and find solutions for industry challenges. The Retail Compliance Center (RCC) is an initiative of the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA). RILA is the US trade association for retailers that have earned leadership status by virtue of their sales volume, innovation or aspiration. We convene decision-makers, advocate for the industry, and promote innovation. Our aim: To envision the future of retail - and equip leading retailers to succeed in it. Environmental compliance and sustainability are important but challenging areas for retail because of the nature of the industry with multiple locations across many jurisdictions, thousands of different products, and long supply chains. The RCC was formed to help America's leading retailers navigate and overcome those challenges. We provide resources, guidance and education to support retail environmental compliance and sustainability professionals, and work together with this community to explore and develop new and innovative solutions. Most recently, the RCC established a decision-support platform to optimize program design and promote peer benchmarking, using an open innovation process to find new ways to approach existing problems and bring together retail professionals from different functions to build new solutions. The RCC website (www.retailcompliance.org) serves as the hub for these resources and educational material designed specifically for the unique challenges of the retail industry. Summary of Position:The primary responsibility of the RCC Manager is to support the RCC and the community of retail executives we serve. The RCC Manager will be responsible for maintaining the RCC website, implementing webinars and other training programs, and supporting RCC initiatives such as the Retail Compliance Advisor and other research projects. The RCC Manager will also provide marketing support including writing blog and social media posts. Working with the vendor community and conducting outreach to retailers are also important components of this position. Position Responsibilities:Help execute the Retail Compliance Center program vision and strategy with the Executive Director, including conducting resource and tool needs assessments with retail and product manufacturer members across multiple functional retail departments.Manage the Retail Compliance Center website including contractor oversight, maintaining current information, developing new content, marketing, and developing ideas for new approaches.Conduct outreach for website sponsors, and manage sponsorships, sponsor content and educational material.Manage the Retail Compliance Center training program on environmental regulations, compliance, and sustainability for retail, including development, execution, evaluation and contractor management related to producing training elements such as webinars and conference calls. In the future, this may include in-person trainings and eLearning modules.Support marketing efforts to reach the retail compliance and sustainability communities with strategies such as blog posts, social media, search ads, direct outreach, webinars, etc.Represent RILA and the Retail Compliance Center at environmental and retail conferences and meetings and on webinars.Support the RILA Retail Advisor, a web-based platform that helps retailers optimize programs with guidance on program development, benchmarking, goal setting and more. The current Advisor is focused on environmental compliance, with energy and sustainability versions under development.Assist with or manage external stakeholder outreach and business development activities with other associations, vendors, and potential partners.Support the RILA Retail Environmental Compliance (REC) committee, a RILA member committee composed of the top retail environmental compliance managers. The RCC manager provides subject matter expertise to support the RILA REC committee liaison including the educational program (calls and in-person meetings), answering member questions on regulatory issues, and support for advocacy efforts.Manage interns and staff as assigned.Other duties as assigned by the Retail Compliance Center Executive Director. ur (4) year college degree is required, preferably in a science or environmental area such as Chemistry, Biology or Environmental Science/Studies. Master's degree in a complimentary discipline, such as Business Administration is desirable. Experience:Minimum of three (3) years professional experience preferred with experience in regulatory and/or environmental areas, with a preference given to candidates with corporate retail experience or program management/marketing experience. Understanding of environmental compliance and sustainability issues and strategies, especially in retail, is also desirable.
