SUMMARY The HR Generalist is responsible for managing tactical employee relations issues, recruitment, compensation, benefits, reporting and EHS tracking & safety training for the Baltimore plant. In addition, the incumbent will assist in training and development initiatives, coaching, payroll administration, EEO/AAP reporting, and other HR functions as needed. The HR Generalist will develop and implement a wellness program, safety and health programs, and coordinate compliance training. ESSENTIAL DUTIESProcess hourly payroll on a weekly basis. Generate necessary reports for payroll and HR. Coordinate all HR related documents for job/employee status changes for employees.Recruitment and onboarding of employees: coordinating offer, pre-employment activities, and applicable OFCCP reporting. Plan, coordinate and facilitate various training programs in compliance with OSHA regulations and standards. Maintain proper documentation and assist with employee relations issues and vendor/supplier communication. Generate ideas for and coordinate employee relations activities that foster employee morale and interaction. Spend time walking the production floor, facilitate conflict resolution and provide coaching and feedback as appropriate. Assist HR Manager in conducting investigations of potential violations of company policies as needed. Conduct employee focus group meeting following administration of the corporate Employee Engagement Survey. Support HR Assistant with disability processes with employees and third party administrators for Worker's Compensation, Short Term Disability and FMLA while ensuring compliance with ADA and HIPAA. Conduct new hire orientation and ensure rules, regulations, and CBA information is reviewed and understood. Assist with employee recognition programs. Develop and maintain partnerships with local technical schools, veterans organizations, career centers, and other outreach organizations to build a pipeline of talent for maintenance positions. Participate in various aspects of safety, including participating in safety audits, delivery of training programs, conducting job safety analysis, identification and reconciliation of root cause of safety incidents.Compile and analyze monthly and annual statistics. Prepare and distribute various reports.Assist the HR Manager with Community Engagement activities and other corporate initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.
