Position Description:Join a first-rate technology team as an Optical Engineer to support and maintain a medium-sized optical network. You will enjoy working as a member of a collaborative team that loves what it does, as it supports an IC mission. This opportunity is fantastic for a self-driven engineer with demonstrated optical experience. With a minimum of 5-7 years of practical, professional experience, you will design and implement a transition from SONET to OTN. Following a completed transition to OTN, you will diversify your skills beyond optical to areas including routing, switching, firewalls, and more. The Optical Engineer has a TS SCI with Polygraph and experience with the following technologies: SONET - Cisco ONS 15454DWDM - Cisco NCS2000 SeriesOTN - Cisco NCS4000Cisco EPN Manager Work with comparable technologies will satisfy the requirements listed above. Additional network experience will be considered positively. Travel is not a requirement for this position. Opportunities to travel, however, will be available.
