Overview Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Greenbelt MD to support our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract in the at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center . As prime contractor on the Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic, team-based development environment for the NASA Space and Ground Networks, supporting the Networks operations and test and integration of electronic and electromechanical systems. Responsibilities What you'll do Design and develop satellite telemetry, tracking and control (TT&C) system software and operational procedures in a multi-tiered and distributed environment. Design and develop interfaces to the TT&C using multiple APIs and technologies. Additionally, you will provide input into the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components. Once software development is complete, the Software Engineer will support integration of the code into the system and testing of the system. The software engineer may also travel with the team to install, test, and train the system at remote sites. Qualifications You'd be a great fit if you have At least 10 years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing and problem diagnosis/resolution are required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering with professional software engineering experience. An understanding of NASA's SN and the Tracking Data Relay Satellite (TDRS). Development/Maintenance experience with Java, C/C++, MySQL, MongoDB, TCL/Tk, RabbitMQ, RESTful Services. Experience building TT&C software. Experience with Kratos EPOCH or similar commercial TT&C product. It'd be even better if you have The ability to work independently as well as in an integrated product team environment. Familiarity with CM/build tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Subversion, Maven, Hudson. Experience with Agile methods and SharePoint. Knowledge of industry trends and standards. The ability to enhance and support a software application (government or commercial) deployed to production user. Innovative thinking with good problem solving and communication skills.
