This position will be responsible for growing, developing and coordinating comprehensive orthopedic services. Reporting to a Corporate VP, this position will partner with Hospital Presidents, Surgery Directors, and medical staff to develop and coordinate orthopedic programs. Position takes ownership of financial, operational, service, clinical outcomes and strategic responsibilities while understanding the importance of fostering positive relationships. Responsible for strategic planning and implementation, business development, and identification of opportunities based upon market data/national trends. Responsible for establishment of clinician support; ensuring strategic plans remain relevant/useful and support community needs, execution of system wide strategies and attainment of measurable improvements in both quality and safety. Key goals include strengthening the Sentara brand as an orthopedic destination of excellence and increasing market share. Achievement of service line goals, productivity optimization and revenue enhancement; leading patient/customer initiatives to support superior patient experience(s) within an integrated, state of the art, care delivery system. Responsible for facilitating collaborative efforts with the community, orthopedic surgeons and hospital leadership.

Master's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration.

Experience: The ideal candidate is a leader who has a solid record in leading change across a system, in collaboration with other leaders; Strong background in Orthopedic Services; Implementation of strategic plans across a highly-matrixed system; Proven ability to develop strong physician relationships and engender trust; Strong communicator; Abreast of new technology; Consistent planning; Past success in physician alignment and integration efforts in diverse market places; Has conducted transformation initiatives for similar sized systems across a key service line, with history of developing physician leaders and advocates in assisting with coordination of care efforts; Provides examples of timely completion/execution and follow through of deliverables to constituents on large and complex projects. Requires a proven, successful leader who takes ownership of financial, operational, service, clinical outcome and strategic responsibilities while maintaining the importance of fostering positive relationships.
