Summary

Immigration Program Analysts in the National Prevailing Wage Center are responsible for classifying requests for prevailing wage determination with the appropriate wage and occupational code.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze and resolve complex issues that arise when processing applications for prevailing wage determinations (PWD).
  • Research Standard Occupational Code (SOC) data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) under the Occupational Employment Statistical (OES) survey .Evaluate employer job duties in comparison with job duties and occupational codes where qualifications are difficult to establish and research industry standards in order to assist in application determinations.
  • Recommend determinations, to the Certifying Office PWD ,in accordance with Section 212(a)(14) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Reviews Applications for Prevailing Wage Determination Requests in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, standard operating procedures and directives issued from the National Office.
  • Prepare letters or other correspondence related to appropriate requests for information where applicable; review and evaluate responses to letters and employer submitted surveys. Review appeals responses to requests for information, issue proposed final determinations and prepare applications for administrative and judicial review.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-11, in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as:
  • Analyzing and assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of immigration-related, or similar, program operations.
