ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW MAEC was founded in 1991, as an education non-profit dedicated to increasing access to equitable educational opportunities so all students can learn and achieve at high levels. Its mission is to promote excellence and equity in education to achieve social justice. Position DescriptionAchievement Linking Innovation, Vision, and Engagement (ALIVE) is a 21st Century Community Learning Centers program under MAEC funded through the Maryland State Department of State. MAEC is looking for a dynamic individual to manage and monitor day-to-day program activities of ALIVE - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) after school program at Col E. Brooke Lee Middle School, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). The program will provide academic and enrichment activities for 25 students grades 6-8. Main ResponsibilitiesManage and monitor day-to-day ALIVE programmatic activities in alignment with proposed plan and 21st Century Community Learning Center program mission.Recruit and hire all ALIVE staff and oversee training, orientation, and other professional development of all staff members.Supervise and coach staff in the implementation of ALIVE program. Build relationships and work cooperatively with School Principal to ensure successful implementation of ALIVE program.Work collaboratively with MAEC's Vice-President and External Evaluator on all ALIVE programs evaluation related activities.Assist External Evaluator with the data collections activities and provide both External Evaluator and MAEC's Data Assistant with evaluation data.Collect, compile and provide Grants and Operation Manager with the appropriate documentation, timesheet related information, and other related to monthly payroll, contracts, etc.Ensure compliance with MCPS policies and procedures regarding After School Programs and overall norms.Foster relationships with local schools, businesses, and non-profit organizations that provide services to youth to enhance ALIVE's program and community engagement.Engage parents and family to participate in ALIVE program and to help promote their children achievement and overall success. QualificationsKnowledge of current research regarding after-school programs on how to increase the academic achievement and well-being of students of racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse backgrounds.Experience in managing after-school programs.Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.Strong computer and technology skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with diverse audiences and community organizations.Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritizes time, and manages implementation plans in alignment with program design. RequirementsMaster's degree in education or comparable field.Five or more years of experience in managing after-school or related programs.
