Duties

Summary

You will serve as an Assistant (Purchasing Agent) in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and Contracting Administrative Branch within the Contracts Department of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

This position is equivalent to the GS-7/8 for the NG03 and GS-9/10 levelfor the NG-04. The full performance level is equivalent to the GS-9/10.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for providing acquisition solutions to technical codes to meet critical requirements for the Navy's Fleet on schedule and on budget.
  • You will be responsible for supporting all facets of the acquisition process and exercising sound business judgment to assist in achieving its mission.
  • You will perform contract administration work to ensure timely award of procurements and effective contract oversight.
  • You will prepare simplified acquisition procedures (SAP) procurement packages and contract file documentation.
  • You will communicate with customers, team members and contractors to convey or receive necessary information to complete procurements.
  • You will interpret and apply contracting laws and regulations in developing strategies to meet acquisition requirements.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field E Level I. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience or equivalent to the NG-02 (GS-5/6 equivalent) pay band or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience supporting the procurement of supplies, equipment, or services utilizing simplified acquisition procedures (SAP).
