Summary

This position supports the Criminal Division's (CRM) space management team. CRM is currently working on multiple design and construction projects, located in DC and other areas of the US. This position would help manage the multiple space projects involing renovations, swinging personnel, records, and furniture while maintaining normal daily operations for CRM's building occupants.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct special analytical studies designed to improve, standardize, and render more cost effective, the utilization of facilities, space, and property management within the Division.
  • Provide support to oversight of the Division's space and facilities management programs, aiding in planning and implementation of office space, program planning, development, design, renovations and relocation services
  • Utilize project management principles in order to develop, schedule, coordinate, and manage space and facilities utilization project and resources.
  • Analyze projected space needs, assessing cost versus benefits.
  • Conduct research and studies necessary to determine actual Division facilities and space requirements.
  • Maintain, and oversee a complete inventory of CRM?s building and space data using AutoCAD software; ensure floor plans and seat assignments are up to date by conducting space audits.
  • Design conceptual plans for new and existing space.

Qualifications

GS-11
  • One (1) year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-09 grade level. Examples of specialized experience must include duties such as: serving on a space management team, maintaining floor plans and space data; making strategic space allocation recommendations to management; and analyzing space problems including construction and alteration projects that involve significant changes to space layouts. OR
  • a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education must be directly related to the position (i.e. interior design). OR
  • Combination of education and experience listed above
GS-12
One (1) year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-11 grade level. Examples of specialized experience must include duties such as: serving on a space management team, developing space utilization metrics and analysis; making strategic space allocation recommendations to management; and analyzing space problems including construction and alteration projects that involve significant changes to space layouts.

Selective Placement Factor
