Responsibilities

The Training Management Coordinator is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management and Administration. The Office of Management and Administration (OMA) provides a large and diverse range of management, administrative, and operational support services to the OIG. The Human Resources Division falls within OMA; the Training and Development team falls within the Human Resources Division.

The mission of the Training and Development Team is to support meaningful professional growth for all employees, teams, and work units that ultimately results in more effective oversight for our nation's veterans. We do that by managing thoughtful, innovative learning experiences, based in the science of adult learning, that build essential leadership skills at all career levels.

Training Management Coordinators serve as the organization's subject matter expert in designing developmental opportunities for employees at all leadership levels: Team Member, Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager. Key program management assignments may include: New Employee Orientation, Team Leadership skills, Project Management skills, New Supervisor Orientation, Second Level supervision strategies, and leadership continual development workshops.

Training Management Coordinators are collaborative consultants; they work across the OIG to continually assess training needs and build an improved user experience. They advise on leadership development opportunities, partner with key support functions to more effectively build and maintain training systems, and actively work together to contribute to learning opportunities at all career levels and to reinforce leadership development principals throughout the career lifecycle.

As a Training Management Coordinator, you will:
-Develop procedures, criteria and standards for use in identifying and evaluating the OIG's training needs.
-Manage programs within the training and development lifecycle by consulting with stakeholders, managing the design and development of programming, facilitating sessions and conducting program evaluations.
-Use evaluation results to recommend program changes including the development of new or revised training policy.
-Develop, review, and analyze reports and statistical data to advise management on performance trends and anticipated training needs.
-Prepare oral and written reports and presentations; prepare graphs and charts that present clear and concise analysis of evaluations performed, and provide staff support for formal presentations.

Travel Required

25% or less - 1-5 nights per month. Travel nationwide under tight deadlines. The incumbent should anticipate frequent walking and standing as a component of this travel.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Administering and carrying out program training activities of an organization; and
- Communicating effectively orally, writing recommendations for senior leader consumption, and facilitating training programs ; and
- Analyzing, evaluating and recommending solutions to policy/program issues; and
- Coordinating and providing technical oversight of others; and
- Analyzing and developing policies and practices pertaining to training management.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
