Software Engineer

Software Engineer Government Scientific Source Inc, GSS, is the leading dedicated supplier of analytical chemistry equipment and consumables to federal, state, and municipal government laboratories. GSS offers the widest selection of products and the most procurement channel options available in the industry. We maintain multiple GSA federal supply schedules, DAPA contracts, and blanket purchase agreements to facilitate procurement administration and compliance. GSS currently has an opening for a Software Engineer that will have an insatiable appetite to learn new technologies and methodologies. Job Duties (include but not limited to): Perform coding and testing on complex revisions to applications to create efficient and maintainable new applications that compliments cutting-edge technologies. Utilize object-oriented language and/or integration tools to enhance and optimize the functionality in existing applications. Learn and apply new technologies/frameworks/languages as required. Be responsible for organizing and documenting developed source codes that can be interpreted by other members of the development team. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields. Strong understanding of Object-oriented Concepts, Data Structures and Program Algorithms. In-depth knowledge of relational databases such as Microsoft Access, Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and/or experience in other similar software. Able to multi-task in a fast-pace environment. Willing to learn new technologies, be flexible and able to take instruction. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
