Transfer Enrollment Specialist (Two vacancies)

PERSONNEL STATUS:                 PIN/Exempt

DEPARTMENT:                            Enrollment Management

Responsibilities:  Increases transfer student interest and enrollment through lead generation, telemarketing, social media, and counseling; communicates with prospective students, parents and/or community through appointments, telephone, email and/or other materials; presents information about the benefits of an education from the department, college or area being represented at onsite locations and to on-campus visitors; assists with processing admission applications, transcripts and/or other supporting credentials for determination of admissibility in accordance with university policies and procedures, as requested; audits student records and notify students/potential students of problems with their academic records (including transcripts, registration, prerequisites, etc.); performs evaluation of transcripts for admissions purposes, interviews, advises, and/or communicates with prospective transfer students regarding admission to the University; responds to student inquiries regarding the admission process and/or procedures and the transferability of credit and related academic information; performs other duties as assigned by the Transfer Enrollment Coordinator.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience with student recruiting in a college/university environment required. Experience with transfer population preferred.

Work patiently and supportively with prospective students, applicants, and their families; excellent interpersonal and phone skills; great organizational skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word and/or Excel required; strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service; ability to collect and/or analyze data related to student admissions and recruitment.

Condition of Employment:  Will require periods of intensive travel, both in and out of state, including weekends and evenings, and working irregular hours. Will be housed on select Maryland Community College campuses one to two days weekly during the fall and spring semester.

Other:  Union position.

SALARY:  $40,000 - $45,000                                                                         RANGE:  I
