As the Operations Process and Data Analyst, you will assist in evaluating aspects of major operations project areas and conduct in-depth data analysis in support of Airports Authority Operations.

Operations Process and Data Analyst

Serves in the Office of Operations Support at the Headquarters Office.

Assists in analyzing and evaluating various complex operations (Airport, Public Safety, and Engineering) processes and procedures. Creates dashboards, score cards, and other metrics and provides analytical support to interpret and implement the findings in these metrics. Performs related functions.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Operations Process and Policy Department Manager, Operations Industrial Engineers, and other key Airports Authority decision-makers to assess and evaluate major operations project areas and define business processes to eliminate inefficiencies and improve productivity.

Identifies situations/processes which need to be analyzed and improved.

Creates dashboards, score cards, and other metrics based on the needs of the Office of Operations Support and other senior management. Generates weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.

Provides analytical support to interpret and implement the findings in these metrics.

Conducts data analysis on key airport, public safety and engineering operational metrics to investigate and improve operations and functions.

Researches 'best practices' in operational data analytics activities in the airline/airport industry. Writes reports and 'white papers' outlining trends and makes recommendations for possible implementation at the Airports Authority.

Prepares and presents written and oral presentations such as briefings and consultations with other operational managers and staff.

Collaborates with other Offices, particularly the Office of Public Safety, Office of Engineering, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and to identify and develop dashboards and metrics.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Five years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis and analytics.

Knowledge of and skill in using data sources, forecasting, and other analytical methods.

Knowledge of business, business management, business planning, and operational process analysis to help identify options for improvement and innovation.

Knowledge of and ability to apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods used in conducting studies of major business areas to support options for improvement in business activities.

Knowledge of and ability to apply economic theory and analysis (such as ROI and TCO analyses) in order to quantify costs/savings from successful process improvement activities.

Ability to perform detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations.

Ability to speak and write effectively.

Skill in using a computer, modern office suite software, and financial systems/software and ability to learn new software/systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of airport operations.

A Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field.

EDUCATION

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Work is typically reviewed during progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, and customer service.
