Adjunct Faculty, English (Composition)
The George Mason University English Department invites applications for English Adjunct Faculty for various part-time vacancies. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.
Responsibilities: This position is a one-semester appointment, beginning Fall 2019, to teach one to three sections of composition. The department particularly needs faculty who can teach first-year composition and our 300-level advanced composition courses in various modes, including face to face and online. This position requires presence on the Fairfax Campus; it cannot be carried out remotely.

Required Qualifications: * M.A. in English (literature or writing and rhetoric) or MFA in creative writing in-hand; and * Experience teaching college composition. Preferred Qualifications: * PhD in Writing and Rhetoric; * Training and experience in online writing instruction (OWI) at the college level; and * Experience working with multilingual students.
Note that candidates must be able to attend professional development workshops held in mid-August at the Fairfax campus in Virginia.
