Job Details
The Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the Case Manager and Outreach Coordinator (full-time, 12 month) position. In support of Title IX, this position is responsible for monitoring all incoming reports of sexual harassment and sexual violence at the University. Additionally, this position makes the initial outreach to potential complainants (students, employees, third parties) and provides them with relevant resources, reporting information, and protective measures when requested. The Case Manager also works with both parties (complainants and respondents) to provide necessary accommodations, explain policy and procedures, and answer questions either party may have regarding same. As such, the Case Manager must act with discretion and in a consistently professional and unbiased manner at all times.
Required Education: Master’s degree in related field or bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience to a master’s degree.
Required Qualifications: Demonstrated comprehensive experience in case management. Demonstrated work experience providing support services to diverse populations in an advocacy, education, or case management setting. Experience working with individuals dealing with stressful or traumatic life events while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Experience working with sensitive and/or confidential information in a discrete and professional manner. Demonstrated ability to interact with and provide accurate information and referral services to a diverse population in a sensitive manner. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and utilize electronic case management systems, as well as basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong ability to collaborate and work independently while keeping appropriate senior staff and Title IX team informed. Stellar interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduate or professional degree. Experience coordinating resources within a large institution and/or across a larger community agency or agencies. Knowledge of Title IX requirements in a university or educational setting.
